baseballer
Aiden is trying out a new sport this summer, baseball! Two games a week and no practices. Aiden is loving it and I have conquered my fear of the baseball. As long as I sit behind the backstop I seem to be safe from my nemesis the ball. I seem to have a magnet for errant balls to the head but in my new safety zone I can sit and enjoy the game!

the first weekend of summer...
was fabulous.
- mondo yard work clean up
- strawberry festival at Boxx Berry Farm
- steak and shrimp on the bbq
- snuggled up for a family movie
- family sunset walk
- blueberry pancakes on the deck
- fishing and tadpole scooping on Silver Lake
- the best steak salad for dinner
- smores in the back yard
This is going to be a beautiful summer I can feel it in my bones (and sunburnt cheeks).

last day of school!
Thursday was the last day of second grade for Aiden. We celebrated with dinner at Applebee's and few presents beforehand. Aiden got some new summer reading material and basketball shorts for camp this week. Amelia got a yummy candy necklace (it will be her first and only) and a totally adorable tutu bathing suit.

play day
I know I'm a little ( a lot) behind on the whole blog thing. Pardon me. Last Wednesday Aiden celebrated the end of schoo with a play day morning.

flat aiden
Aiden had a fun school project this year. Following the theme of Flat Stanley, his class made paper versions of themselves and mailed them around the world. Aiden started with his Auntie Melanie in Connecticut and yesterday we received Flat Aiden and his passport home! Flat Aiden travelled from Stamford, Connecticut - Fairfax, Virginia - Royal Hospital School in England - Essex, England - the capital city of Ukraine - Rhu, Scotland - Coquitlam, B.C. Pretty impressive travels over the past five months Flat Aiden!

our circus star!
Amelia has been practicing for her spring dance recital in a few weeks. She had her first dress rehearsal this week end and it was pretty adorable. They are circus performers complete with hula hoops!
