happy august
Today feels like a beautiful summer day. The sky is blue and the sun is shining. We haven't had a lot of those kind of days this summer but I am optimistic for August. We also have nowhere to be this morning and I think that's an important part of summer. We were a little to busy for the month of July and now it's time to relax and enjoy some lazy summer days. Hopefully, I'll get back into the blogging thing as well.

craigslist snafoo
Dale checks out craigslist a lot. Time to time we find something to chuckle at. Remember the 'slightly used' stripper pole? Tonight he found something grosser. Baby change table or kitchen island! The seller states she used it as a baby change table but you could use it a kitchen island! Complimentary E.Coli :)

grossest thing evah...
Yesterday we were going through the border and noticed a 'fur farm' truck waiting to go through customs. As soon as the truck stopped it was swarmed by crows. Apparently the top of the truck cargo was open and the crows were swooping down and flying away with bits of 'white stuff' in their beaks. Dale pointed out the 'white bits' were probably hunks of fat off the untreated fur pelts. As we were waiting our turn in the border line to be questioned what we would be bringing into the country, I couldn't help but think we couldn't have anything remotely as offensive as the 'fur farm' truck contents.
*sorry there won't be any pictures to share from the week end. After I loaded up four people and all their stuff including 3 bicycles, 2 scooters, helmets, a Wii and balance board, a wheelchair, crutches and a shower chair- I forgot my camera- imagine that.

random pics

I am trying to have a more organized approach to my pictures instead of just uploading to the computer never to be seen again. I upload monthly to Costco, pick up my pictures, put away in albums and try to scrapbook events from the previous month. Today I picked up September's pictures and managed to finished a page for each of the kids scrapbooks. I found some fun ones of Amelia I never shared.

childhood revisited

Last week (not this week) Amelia was letting me do her hair. Sunday we went to Target and loaded up on hair accessories. I had to have these barrettes that are identical to the ones I had growing up. Amelia pointed out the yellow ones looked like corn on the cob. I instantly remembered wearing that barrette in first or second grade when my Mom was trying to grow out my bangs. I thought it looked terrible and would pull out the barrette as soon as I walked out the door. She would keep calling me back to the house and put it back in. I wasn't smart enough to wait and do it at school.

most embarrassing moment...
Well not my MOST embarrassing moment. If you know me well enough you already know what that is. Back to yesterday... I was at the grocery store and reached into my purse for my wallet. A strange look crossed over the cashier's face and I looked down. I had a cucumber in my purse. I forgot I had put it in there from my friend's garden the day before. I don't know what would be weirder (that I was stealing a cucumber or that I would have a cucumber in my purse). I pretended there wasn't anything unusual about the cucumber in my purse, paid for my groceries and left.

can you believe this???

The plum count was 48 so that would make Elizabeth a second time winner. I am knee deep in laundry and packing for Whistler so the winner would be getting another jar of peach salsa. I decided I would pick the person with the farthest answer. That would be Rebecca!! Aren't accountants supposed to be good with numbers? Just kidding. I will get your little prizes delivered today.

peach count
there were...63 peaches in the bowl....so that would make Elizabeth the lucky winner of a jar of peach salsa! It's already made and I will deliver it to you soon. Thanks to everyone for playing along and I'm already thinking of something else...
