december daily: day eight

Tonight I finally broke out my December daily album. I finished one page but hopefully after tomorrow I will be able to catch up and stay that way through Christmas.

december dailies: day seven

Today we had a busy day. Aiden had a blast at a friend's birthday party. The theme was 'little chefs' and they cooked up some pizza and decorated cookies. When we got home we all headed down to Boulevard and checked out the beach and scenery. We live in a such beautiful place and all I need is a break in the rain long enough to get outside for a few hours and I can take a few more days of rain. After the beach we went and checked out the Port Christmas Festival at the ferry terminal. This is the first year we've gone and I look forward to going back next year. We arrived just as the horse drawn carriage rides were ending and the kids activities were wrapping up. Amelia charmed a few chocolate kisses out of the nice ladies in the craft room. The gingerbread house display was really fun. Maybe it will motivate us to slap our Costco kit together.

december dailies: day six

Tonight we went to the lighted Christmas parade in Lynden. I am not a big fan of parades, except Macy's Thanksgiving day but even that only in small doses. The Lynden parade I tolerate because a) it's Christmas and b) they drive the floats quite quickly, now only if they could keep the floats close together and we could have it all done in 20 minutes. Aiden needed to use the bathroom halfway through so we went in Dutch Mother's Restaurant. Aiden discovered a large checkers game and he and I spent the rest of the parade cozy and warm playing checkers, perfect. And yes I am planning on having quite the collection of blurry out of focus pictures.

december daily: day five

We kicked off our Christmas extravaganza week end tonight. We started with dinner out at Mi Mexico (Amelia was wonderfully behaved). After dinner we headed out to Birch Bay to check out the Santa train. Both kids loved the light display and it was a good way to start off the season. The pictures are terrible but they are what they are.
