patient progress report 2
Today I decided to stop my percocet-gingerale-saltine-supine coma and get out of bed. I don't think I counted on how long it would be before I was able to drive and walk unassisted. It's going to be a long few weeks.

asian potsticker soup
I modified a Real Simple recipe to what I had on hand and spiced up the broth a bit. It's pretty yummy.
8 cups/64 oz of vegetable or chicken broth
1 inch piece of fresh ginger thinly sliced
1 clove minced garlic
1 cup diced celery
1/4 cup diced red onion
1 tbsp sesame oil
2 tbsp oyster sauce
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tsp chili pepper flakes
1 cup sliced carrots
2 cups fresh chopped spinach
combine in large pot on stove top and bring to boil, simmer for 10 minutes
then add
16 frozen potstickers
cook for another 10 minutes and you're done!

patient progress report
Yesterday was the big day and everything went very smoothly. Not alot of pain but the femoral nerve block is still working this morning. I fear my very sweet attentive husband is going to turn into 'Helga' the East German physical therapist. He wanted me to do my crazy painful knee exercises without pain meds on board first thing this morning.

olympic birthday party
Aiden's birthday is the start of the Olympics this year so we thought it very fitting to do an Olympic themed birthday. We rented a gymnasium so we would have enough room for 11 boys to run around and play 'winter games'. There was a hockey game (with croquet mallets and tennis racquets) that was quite terrifying. The bobsled, luge and skeleton played on skate boards (probably the most favorite) and a makeshift game of curling involving rolls of colored tape. The boys seemed to really enjoy it and everyone brought home the gold! My grand plan to have an international flag cake was dashed when it was pointed out there were no Canadian flags on the cake (oops).

big girl room tour
Amelia's room is 95% done I just need to order a photo canvas for above her bed and paint her closet knobs (I'm thinking hot pink with white polka dots {she'll love it} One of the things I was looking forward to was using my childhood furniture. I never really liked it growing up but now I can see how cute it is for a little girl. We had originally planned to paint the furniture bright glossy white and change the hardware but I've decided I like the way it looks with her new bedding so why create more work for
