halloween 2012
Amelia went as the most adorable cheetah cat this year. Aiden, well......he really wanted to be the Grim Reaper. I had a really hard time with my sweet boy wanting to be something I view as so evil. In the end it's all pretend and I settled on calling him a phantom. Not sure what the difference is.

the pumpkin princess and young jedi....
Halloween felt different this year. Maybe it was that it was a Monday or maybe the kids are older and wanting to go in different directions. This childhood thing is going warp speed!

Hallow's Eve
Once again we lucked out with good trick or treating weather. The kids could only hold out to 5:30pm and then we let them loose in the neighborhood. It was definitely a race through the subdivision and everyone was back home by 7pm. I like that. We had a lil pre funk before heading out and all the families dressed up. Dale was a nerd and I was a librarian but the pictures are a little fuzzy.

fairy photo shoot
Lil Miss is going to be a fairy for Halloween. At the last minuted she has decided green is her favorite color and we did some scrambling to add her 'new' favorite color into the costume. I'm sure things will be back to normal in the next few days and pink will be back on top.

trick or treat

Halloween we had a little pre funk with friends and then let the kids loose in the neighborhood. I love to watch the kids trick or treat while it's still light out. It was a bonus that it wasn't raining. Our neighbor and Amelia both were dressed as Snow White.Amelia did our street and then joined me inside to hand out candy. We didn't get many kids this year but I was impressed with the ones that did come. Their costumes were fabulous and every single one had great manners.

Halloween sneak peek

I took a cue from the rain free weather today and dressed Amelia up in her costume. I read last year about dressing your kids up on a nice day before Halloween because it's usually rainy and dark on the big day and the kids are too excited to stand still for pictures. I love this idea. I bribed Amelia with a little glitter make up and she was more than happy to prance around in her costume!

halloween review

I thought trick or treating was going to be a disaster. Amelia wanted to be batman so badly, she kept peeling the 'R" of her shirt and tugging on Aiden's costume. We went out at 5:30p while it was still light out and not raining. Amelia loved going up to strangers doors and asking for 'canny' she wasn't afraid of anything! Aiden and Dale went out again once it got dark and Amelia and I stayed home to hand out candy. Amelia ate her fair share of candy and was bouncing off the walls and diving onto the couches and floor. When Aiden returned he let Amelia put on his costume and it was the highlight of Halloween for Amelia.
